2026 Versys 650 ready to go the distance

A stand out machine in the Kawasaki range, the latest iteration of the ever-popular Versys 650 is ready to take the 2026 sales season head on. Fully Euro-5 compliant, the agile Versys boasts a maximum of 67 PS in terms of peak power plus a useful 61N m of peak torque.

Equipped with 17 inch wheels for manoeuvrability and agility, the highly durable and equally highly praised, twin-cylinder, water-cooled 649cm3  engine remains in place while the styling echoes that of the Versys 1100 (which is the official motorcycle of the Tour de France) offering a similar level of rider aids plus distinctive contemporary looks.

From a riding perspective, the easy to read 4.3” TFT meter relays all essential information while offering the possibility to link to the riders' Smartphone using Kawasaki's unique Rideology App that also includes a voice command function.

Offered as standard with KTRC traction control, plus the convenience of all LED lighting, the best way to truly understand the Versys 650 is to ride one and appreciate the all-day comfort seat, ergonomic riding position and generous weather-beating adjustable screen. Add such accessories as “one-key system” panniers and a voluminous top case and the Versys is ready to satisfy any riders dreams of distance.

Available for 2026 in three colourways, or as part of Kawasaki's highly appreciated “Editions” range - which encompasses Tourer and Grand-Tourer editions built using only Kawasaki Genuine Accessories - the latest Versys 650 is ready to go the distance.

Priced at £8049 for the standard model.
Available from middle of August

2026 Versys 650 Colour Options:
  • METALLIC SPARK BLACK/METALLIC MATTE CARBON GRAY
  • METALLIC DEEP BLUE/METALLIC SPARK BLACK
  • METALLIC GRAPHITE GRAY/METALLIC SPARK BLACK

Duo of 2026 Kawasaki youth off-roaders confirmed

Kawasaki's history in the entry level and junior classes of off-road machinery is the stuff of legend. And that continues into 2026 with the confirmation that the KLX110R and KX65 are included in the upcoming season range.

Benefitting from both electric and kick starting, the KLX110R is an ideal entry into not just enjoyment of off-road riding but also the elementary skills of machine control that will return benefits across a whole life on two wheels. Add a 4-speed semi-auto transmission with automatic clutch for stall-free shifting and inherent durability and Kawasaki build quality and it's a machine built to last season in, season out.

When learning turns to racing, Kawasaki is again front and centre with the iconic KX65. Start point for many domestic and world champions, the KX65 not only looks like it belongs in the race paddock but the results over many years speak for themselves.

Looking for all the world like a full-on MXGP machine (and that is essential for Junior's pride), the KX65 boasts a time served and high performing two-stroke powerplant that is both easy to maintain but famously durable – this is not a one-season love affair!

So whether its those first tentative steps off-road, or the first addition to the trophy cabinet, Kawasaki has the youth off-road machines in the 2026 range that deliver on all levels.

Both bikes are available in Lime Green with the KLX110R costing £2,699 and the KX65 £3,499. Both bikes will be available from the end of July.

2026 KX250 and KX450 models announced

The much anticipated unveiling of the 2026 adult KX models for Europe has manifested itself on two machines in the shape of models in the 250cc and 450cc categories

Entering the MX2 class with the official Kawasaki team this year, popular French rider. Mathis Valin has impressed in 2025 on the KRT KX250-SR machine based around the standard model available in Kawasaki dealerships. That race development, innovative engineering and cutting-edge technology flows into 2026 providing an ideal platform for professional and amateur racer alike incorporating such features as power modes and Kawasaki Traction Control. There is also a symmetrically aligned intake and exhaust to deliver strong over-run and smooth low-rpm torque characteristics.

At the pinnacle of the KX offering in 2026 is the mighty KX450, a machine that in its SR form has propelled Kawasaki Racing Team rider, Romain Febvre, to red plate status across a slew  of races during the 2025 MXGP season. With a chassis optimised in terms of rigidity balance this has contributed to increased front-end feel evidenced in outstanding MXGP performances across the season. In turn, this translates to improved cornering feel in a wide range of conditions.  Add Brembo brake components, Showa suspension plus ODI Lock-on grips and the attention to detail is there for all to see.  Additionally, the integration of smartphone connectivity allows riders to connect with their machine to adjust engine mapping directly from a handheld device.

Join the green team in 2026 and enjoy the precision of machine control and performance that comes as a direct result of Kawasaki racing on the world stage.

Both bikes are available in Lime Green, with the KX250 costing £7,799 (available from the end of July) and the KX450 costing £8,399 (available from late 2025)

Routes and Tours from Simon Weir

Check out Simon Weir's latest tour on the Ninja 1100SX:

Anyone in the South of England is pretty much guaranteed to be blown away by the roads in the north of the country. Obviously, there are big cities and busy towns as well, but the riding between them is a world away from the Home Counties. Wide-open spaces, huge hills and massive views, moorland… and roads that not only usually have better surfaces than those in the south-east but also a fraction of the traffic. It's like the promised land. Without even crossing a border.

I'm just back from a week in the north with a great bunch of riders on the Chickenstrips tour called, er, The North (read it in menacing Sean Bean accent – it sounds better). It was five days of sharing some of my favourite roads, from my old stomping ground in the East Midlands right up to the Scottish borders. Click the link below to read more about my pick of the roads we rode each day – ones that you have to ride (if you haven't already)...

As a member of Club Kawasaki, you can save 20% off the self-guided European tours and hundreds of daytrip routes by Simon Weir, author of Europe for BikersBritain for Bikers and the Bikers' Britain series. Wherever you want to ride, he will have a tried-and-tested route for you – from half-day British rides to multi-day European tours.
