What's included in the latest Club Forum update?

As our regular forum members are already aware, in the most recent update of the Club Kawasaki forum, a fun, new achievements system has been introduced where users can earn points and badges for participating.

We're sure you'll have questions, so here are the answers to the main ones but let us know if you have more.

Why has this been introduced?

The new Achievements Points system keeps a running tally of Points. Members may earn Points in a multitude of ways. Essentially, it's achieved by participating in the community.

Create a topic? Points! Post a reply? Points! Follow another member? Points! RSVP to an event… You guessed it, points!!!

The whole point, in the points, is to shine a light on those Club members who continuously add value to the community.

How do I earn points and badges?

You can earn points and badges for most actions on the forum, here's a full list of the current rules which will pay out:

Why have I started at Newbie level when I've been a member for years?

As this is a brand new feature, all users have started at Newbie level. It's a level playing field for all, so if you're seeing other members at other levels, that's because they've been getting involved by posting, reacting and more so they've already earned points and badges.  The example photos used here are from my account – Eleanor @ Kawasaki – so you can see what's possible in just a few days, with just a few posts.

Can we have points backdated?

Some badges have been awarded based on historic data, but every member has started at the 'newbie' level for points from the day of introduction. In just a few days, those who post regularly are already moving to the mid-levels so get involved in the fun and you'll quickly progress.

We want to continuously encourage all members to get involved – new and existing - and we feel that if too many members were to reach the upper levels, they would then feel unattainable to newer members and it may be discouraging for them. Points are currently set to reset every 365 days.

Do I have to submit anything to my earn points?

Points are added automatically so all you have to do is participate by replying, posting, reacting etc. and you'll soon be flying through the ranks.

Will there be changes to the achievements system?

Probably, yes. We would like to personalise the system to suit our club but for now, we're allowing our forum users some time to get used to how it works before we make changes.

We anticipate changing the names of the levels, the number of levels, or the rules which award points and badges.

How can I find out which level I am?

Log in to the Club Forum and view your profile by clicking/tapping your username via the top right menu. It will show your current rank and how many points are remaining to reach the next level.

Can I see which badges I've earned?

Absolutely! When viewing your own profile, you will see your Rank Progress along with any badges you have earned.

Do I have to use the new achievements system?

The Club forum has always had a ranking system, this is just an updated version. We know change can be hard to take sometimes but the points, badges & ranks are all just a bit of fun for you all which help those who get involved – be recognised for their input.

We're not able to switch it on or off for individual members, so if it seems a bit much, feel free to just ignore it. Your points and ranks will still automatically be updated but it's nothing for you to worry or stress about.
