Kawasaki Jet-Skis® Return to UK Shores appointed exclusive UK distributor for Kawasaki's high performance, fast accelerating personal watercraft range., one of the UK's biggest and most diverse boat dealerships has announced an agreement with Kawasaki to become the exclusive UK distributor of its new personal watercraft (PWC) range. After a 6 year absence from the UK market for new sales of Kawasaki's 'multi-seat' and 'stand up' Jet-Skis®, the appointment follows Kawasaki's plans to reinforce their position at the centre of the recreational and extreme personal watercraft scene.

Kawasaki is widely acknowledged as playing a fundamental role in the birth of personal watercraft and they coined the term 'Jet-Ski', which it subsequently trade-marked. In 1973, the company released the world's first mass-production Jet Ski® watercraft, the JS400, paving the way for the beginning of the personal watercraft market.

As UK distributor, trading under the title Kawasaki Watercraft UK, will introduce Kawasaki's impressive new 2021 Jet-Ski® fleet, comprising of multi-seat models and Kawasaki's latest version “stand-up” Jet-Ski® the SX-R. Each new model is equipped with either a normally aspirated or supercharged four-cylinder, four-stroke specialised Kawasaki marine engine. With power outputs ranging from 150ps right up to 300ps Kawasaki have a  Jet-Ski® for every application.
The return of the Kawasaki Jet-Ski® to the UK market is seen as a well-timed move for Essex-based With over 50 years of experience selling new and used boats, they are anticipating a healthy demand for these high-performance personal watercraft, built to the exacting standards for which Kawasaki is renowned.
As a perfect addition to the aft deck of a motor yacht, or for those wanting to take to the water for the first time on something very special, Kawasaki has the solution. In addition to this can now provide the exclusive Kawasaki Jet-Ski® handling system for use on yachts and super yachts.
Managing Director, James Barke said, “Kawasaki Jet-Skis® are the original personal watercraft and we are very proud to be representing this highly trusted brand in the UK. As in other markets, there has been an up-surge in boating here in recent months and with less people travelling due to the Covid-19 situation, we see this trend continuing. PWC's are a relatively low-cost way of getting on the water so all the signs point to a big demand in the future.”
General Manager of Kawasaki Motors UK Howard Dale said, “We are delighted to be working with on the re-introduction of Jet Ski Watercraft into the UK. The PWC market has become very specialized, so we took the view that in order to fully exploit Kawasaki's market potential, we needed to work with experts, and we are confident that are the right partner for us”.
Kawasaki's 2021 new model line-up includes three models in the STX160 three-seater range, priced from £11,999; four Ultra craft from Kawasaki's highest specification, multi-seat Jet-Ski® watercraft priced from £12,899 and the flagship of the multi-seat fleet, the Ultra 310 super charged range priced from £17,999. Kawasaki's solo “stand up” Jet-Ski®, the formidable SX-R, is priced from £10,899. All prices are inc. VAT @ 20%.

After setting a new circuit record in Superpole, reigning World Superbike Champion Jonathan Rea claimed third place in the opening encounter, battling for the lead for the majority of the race. Team mate Alex Lowes crashed out unhurt whilst running in a strong podium contention position.

On Sunday, the five-time Champion demonstrated his talent by first taking victory in the 10-lap Tissot-Superpole race, before following it up with another win in the full-length Race 2. Taking the chequered flag by nearly two seconds, it marked Rea's 80th win with Kawasaki and gave him a ten point lead in the Championship standings. On the other side of the garage, Lowes was able to battle back from his highside on Saturday to claim sixth and ninth.

Further trophies came in the World Supersport class, with Philipp Öttl taking third in the opening race, his second podium of his rookie season, following it up with fifth in race two, one place behind teammate Lucas Mahias in fourth.

The World Supersport 300 class once again provided fans with two action-packed races, but it was Jeffrey Buis who shone through, taking pole position before doubling up on race wins, his first victories in the class. All six podium positions were claimed by riders racing the Kawasaki Ninja 400.

This weekend also saw further Kawasaki success, when the SRC squad were able to claim second place at the gruelling Le Mans 24 Hours World Endurance Championship!

Kawasaki Motors UK are supporting the #UnlockYourFreedom initiative that has been launched by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) to highlight the reasons why riding a scooter or motorcycle is a great alternative to stay isolated and safe.

Government advice states: ''Consider all other forms of transport before using public transport,” therefore increasing numbers of people are looking for reliable and quick modes of transport during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Motorcyclists across the world already know the benefits of two wheels - they're affordable, economical, fun and can help ease congestion. However, the list of advantages has been expanded even further now that being socially distanced is high on people's agendas. Now, choosing two-wheels is a safer alternative to public transport as it allows individuals to remain isolated and a safe distance from others outside of their households.

If you're 17 or over, you can ride a motorcycle or scooter up to 125cc or 11KW having completed your Compulsory Basic Training (CBT). Or if you're 16, you're able to ride a scooter up to 50cc without even passing a test, all you have to do is complete CBT which often takes as little as one day.

Find essential information about the licensing process at the #unlockyourfreedom website, and if you want to learn to ride with Kawasaki, don't forget to look at Kawasaki Rider Training Services - KRTS - for your motorcycle training needs.
